Junior shooters and Centurion

Juniors have tuition on the 6yd range. After training, the first competition they will experience will either be an "In-house" postal competition (depending on numbers) or the Summer or Winter Dorset postal league, which is the core postal competition at the club.

When they are ready and have acquired some personal kit they will progress to the 10m range, from where they will gain experience in more postal competitions, NSRA badge-sets and an introduction to open competitions.

The same process applies for our adult beginners. We have held training weekends, which incorporated theory and practical training and practice of open competition and 10 shot final situations on both paper and electronic targets.

We welcome those who choose to take their DOE Award in shooting, and following initial coaching and if they stay with the club, they also would be entered either into an in-house postal competition or the Dorset postal.

Since 2001 from our junior members we have had 5 rifle shooters training with the GB Development Squad.
We currently have 3 pistol shooters on the development pathway for 2012.
